After Luminosity advanced to the ELEAGUE Group A finale, HLTV.org asked Gabriel 'FalleN' Toledo, Wilton 'zews' Prado, and Lincoln 'fnx' Lau some post-match questions.

After going 6-0 in the ELEAGUE Group A seeding stage, Luminosity advanced into the group semifinals and took down Liquid 2-0, winning Mirage 16-6 and Nuke 16-12.

HLTV.org asked some questions of team captain Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, team coach Wilton "zews" Prado, and Lincoln "fnx" Lau (the best performer of the semifinal), hopping between the conference room and elsewhere as we interviewed.

[Chris Puckett] What level do you see fnx and fer currently playing at because they dropped some massive numbers on Nuke?

Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo: Yeah I think the entire tournament they've been playing like some of the best players in the world. fnx and fer are crazy and Nuke is historically a very good map for fnx and I think he is very glad to play it again. And he did some damage on this map.

The CT-side was just crazy, fer and fnx tried to hold A site and they didn't even die. They were killing everyone and didn't even end up dying.

[Chris Puckett] You play against the winner of Cloud9 and Renegades tomorrow on television for the first time this season. Who do you expect to play and what's your mindset going into tomorrow's matches?

Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo: I really think both teams have the same chance to go to the finals, I can't confidently pick it but if I had to pick I'd choose Cloud9 because they're a very good team and I think there's going to be a bit more hype, a bit more fun.

Once again, both teams are extremely difficult and will try their best to get first place in the group stage.

[Your reporter] I have a question Gabriel.

Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo: Woo!

Via our stats fnx is an incredibly valuable player in terms of average damage per round and in terms of trading and stuff like that. Do you think people appreciate the performance he puts in considering that sometimes you, coldzera, and even fer have the more highlight-worthy plays?

Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo: I think it's very difficult when another player shines, like as much as coldzera is shining, and me, and it brings more attention. But fnx has a lot of experience and he is indeed one of our best players and especially the stuff he does to come back in games.

If you remember Train against G2 in the last tournament [ESL Pro League Season 3 finals], we won Train because of fnx and because he was doing his role perfectly.

Did you think Liquid were going to do more than they did, considering the Nuke pick?

Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo: To be honest I don't think they had time to practice it, I think it was a gamble. They had some stuff, they had some CT-setups and a bit of strategy but they were in the same position as we were: just some theoretical stuff on the map so I think it was very risky for them.

But they didn't have too much choice, they recently have lost Dust2 against us which they usually like to play, so I kind of like that they did something different and if they won the T-pistol on Nuke I think they would have won that map.

Were some of your boosts or smokes influenced by Anders' theorycraft videos?

Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo: Yeah definitely. Normally it's Zews or cold that does this stuff for us but for example the triple boost I think he got it from the Theorycraft from Anders and this obviously gave us some good ideas.

The boost didn't work though because there was no-one catwalk to kill but it was still pretty cool.

[Later in the hallway] I already asked Gabriel this but did you get the triple boost and some of the smoke executes from online sources?

Wilton "zews" Prado: Most of the things I searched on YouTube, saw what they already had, no point having to do everything from scratch especially if something is already there.

As for the triple boost, all the smokes and Molotovs we had seen before the game, but then in the game they were trying to boost and I said "do it here!" We didn't get a kill but it works.

Did any of your guys have FPS problems?

Wilton "zews" Prado: No, not at all. The PCs here are really good.

Even in smoke at 1080p?

Wilton "zews" Prado: Yeah.

Did Liquid do anything weird to signify they were prepared for the Nuke pick or was it just a wildcard attempt to throw you guys off?

Wilton "zews" Prado: I think they knew that the maps were going to be hard. They did well on Cobble but they knew we'd study our mistakes and it would never be that close of a game again.

And with the rest of the maps, they had pretty much nowhere to run because our map-pool fits pretty well against them...Overpass, Mirage, Train, even Dust2 which people have thought before was one of our weak maps and it is turning out to be one of our strong maps so, they tried what they had.

fnx, did you feel comfortable on those maps against Liquid?

Lincoln "fnx" Lau: *laughs* I feel comfortable on every map.

The reason I ask is because some of your teammates might get credit for their multikill rounds but you kind of quietly assasinate people everywhere. Is that intentional?

Lincoln "fnx" Lau: Yeah of course it's intended, I have no problem with that role.

So kind of different to that NA joke that all players are just in it to get a highlight play?

Lincoln "fnx" Lau: *laughs* But honestly I don't mind because I'm one of the more experienced players on the team and I can do whatever they ask, I can fit into any role that other teammates might not necessarily know how to play.

The second ELEAGUE Group A semifinal is currently underway between Cloud9 and Renegades to determine the second team to play in the TBS televised group finale. Make sure to tune it at twitch.tv/eleaguetv.
